Lush
green mountains rise majestically from a deep blue sea. Exotic fruits
and flowers thrive under a bright tropical sun. From this paradise of
Hawai'i comes a most delicious beverage: world-renowned Kona coffee. At
Hawaiian Isles Kona Coffee Company, we make the finest coffees in the islands.
We take pride in the exceptional quality of our coffee processing from start
to finish, roasting our custom coffees in small batches daily and making
sure they're perfect every time. That's why we employ people like Ron
Montague, our Roastmaster and Plant Manager. Ron has been in the Kona
coffee business for 30 years. His job is to procure and supply for Hawaiian
Isles Kona Coffee Company the finest quality coffee available. Ron and
the people he supervises follow a strict program of rigorous testing and
quality control every step of the way.
Upon
receipt, samples are taken of the various raw coffee to be used in our
blends. The samples are inspected for color, odor, moisture, content,
size and uniformity, then roasted, ground and tasted, to insure the flavor
our customers have come to expect. During the blending and roasting
process, strict guidelines are followed. From our lightest roast to our
darkest, color tests are performed on every roast to guarantee consistency. Grinding and packaging are the final steps of the manufacturing process.
The grinds are checked regularly to verify that they remain within
our grinding specifications, in order to provide the same consistent brew. Packaging the coffee is completed as soon after grinding is
possible. Our state of the art packaging has a one-way gas release valve, allowing us
to process the coffee from the grinders directly into packages. This
eliminates the degassing stage and helps to preserve
the freshness of our finished product by reducing its exposure to oxygen in
the surrounding air.
Processing coffee to our high-quality requirements at Hawaiian Isles
Kona Coffee Company is hard work. But the close attention we pay makes a
difference that people can taste. Our customers love Hawaiian Isles Kona
Coffee as much as they love the paradise it comes from.
